Now that you've completed the interview, review the Youth Safety Guidelines and have the youth sign a copy by giving them this link: https://bbbs.tfaforms.net/f/SB_Youth_Safety_Guidelines
After completing,  discuss next steps and a potential timeline for matching.

Note: A baseline youth survey (YOS/COS) may be worth completing at this time if the potential for matching is within the next 30 days. Otherwise, a youth survey should be completed at the time of matching, as the baseline surveys expire after 30 days.
Youth Assessment

What are your overall observations of the child? How would you describe the child and why? What specific interests, likes, dislikes, hopes, etc. does the child have? How will this impact the type of volunteer they may or may not pair well with? How would you describe the child’s home environment, neighborhood, and family living situation? What is the Little’s motivation for joining the program and are there appropriate expectations for the match relationship and program? Does the Little and/or parent have very specific or narrow preferences for a Big? Taking into consideration the Little’s preferences (and any listed by the parent/guardian on the application), interests, and hobbies what type of volunteer would you recommend matching with the Little and why? What type of volunteer wouldn’t the Little work well with and why?

Based off of the child’s interview responses and responses in their YOS/COS, what training will be required to help the Little develop a healthy relationship and communicate with their mentor? What potential challenges might the Little face and what training is needed to address those challenges? What specific coaching or training will this Little require? Based on their academic/future goals and application, what goals or achievements can they work towards with the help and support of their mentor and how can the match work together to achieve those goals? (This will be used to draw up the YODP form) What can the child learn or gain from this mentoring experience and how can a mentor impact their overall life? If Flex, are there any classes or extracurricular activities that will potentially impact their ability to participate? Include any pertinent PQA information and follow up that may impact the child’s goals and/or support needed. Identify and address any problem areas raised throughout the enrollment process.
