Volunteer Board Member Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties! Our term and fiscal year are July 1 to June 30.

Participant eligibility shall be determined without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, or disability. 
  1. Board of Directors Member: These volunteers govern, set strategy, and have oversight of our agency. The Board meets the 4th Thursday of the month at 5:30pm. Meet 6 times a year, a total of 12-15 hours per year, meetings are typically virtual but with occasional in-person meetings. 
  2. Finance Committee: Provides financial analysis, advice, and oversight, reporting to the Board. The Board meets the Meet 10 times a year, a total of 10 hours per year, meetings are typically virtual but with occasional in-person meetingsThe Board meets the 4th Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm.
  3. Palm Beach County Advisory Board Member: these volunteers assist with outreach and fundraising, reporting to the Board. Meet 10 times a year, a total of 10 hours per year, meetings are typically virtual at 5:00pm but with occasional in-person meetings.
  4. Martin County Advisory Board Member: these volunteers assist with outreach and fundraising, reporting to the Board. Meet 10 times a year, a total of 10 hours per year, meetings are typically virtual at 12:00pm but with occasional in-person meetings.






















Confidentiality Agreement
This agreement is made between Board Member Name and BBBS of Palm Beach and Martin Counties Inc. (BBBSPBMC).

Employee/Board Member will perform services for BBBSPBMC which may require BBBSPBMC to disclose confidential and proprietary information (“confidential information”) to Employee/Board Member. Confidential information is any information of any kind, nature, or description concerning any matters affecting or relating to Employee/Board Member’s services for BBBSPBMC, the business, or operations of BBBSPBMC, and/or the products, drawings, plans, processes, or other data of BBBSPBMC).

Accordingly to protect BBBSPBMC, Confidential information that will be disclosed to Board Members, the Board Member agrees to the following:

A. Employee/Board Member will hold the Confidential Information received from BBBSPBMC in strict confidence and shall exercise a reasonable degree of care to prevent disclosure to others.
B. Employee/Board Member will not disclose or divulge either directly or indirectly Confidential Information other than the performance of his/her duties for BBBSPBMC.
C. Employee/Board Member will not reproduce the Confidential information nor use this information commercially or for any purpose other than the performance of his/her duties for BBBSPBMC.
D. Employee/Board Member will, upon request or upon termination with his/her/they/their
relationship with BBBSPBMC deliver any drawings, notes, documents, equipment and materials received from BBBSPBMC or originating from its activities for BBBSPBMC.
E. BBBSPBMC reserves the right to take disciplinary action, up to and including termination for violations of this agreement. Employee/Board Member represents and warrants that it is not under any preexisting obligations inconsistent with the provisions of this agreement.
Signing/typing below signifies that the Employee/Board Member agrees to the terms and conditions of the agreement stated above.
