Big Brothers and Big Sisters are “mentors” which literally means a wise and trusted friend. Big Brothers and Big Sisters can help you find the right direction and help you develop solutions to social or academic struggles, and who will help you believe in yourself and boost your confidence.

Mentoring is about people of different ages and backgrounds sharing their life experiences. A mentor is someone who takes the time to explain how things work, shows you the ropes, and gives you the confidence you need. It is a friendship between two people – the Big and the Little, and it is a helpful relationship based upon mutual trust and respect.
